Support our Kits By County campaign

Following the announcement that Stockport County and County Community Trust have launched an initiative to help get PE kits into Stockport’s primary schools, the Club is now reaching out to local businesses to help support the campaign.

In a bid to help get the borough’s primary school pupils more active and engaged in PE, the Kits By County scheme aims to raise over £100,000 over the course of the new season in order to provide up to 12,000 PE kits to children who need them the most.

The Club has already lent its support by donating £2 from every new adult shirt sold to the Kits By County campaign. The recent EFL League Two trophy tour across Stockport has also helped to raise over £17,000. However, if the campaign total is to be reached, the support of local businesses is vital.

The cost of providing a kit to a pupil in primary school costs around £20, so for every £1,000 raised, the Club will be able to donate 50 kits to a school or family struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Alison Warwood, CEO of County Community Trust said:

“Companies can support Kits By County in a variety of ways. This could include making a donation as part of their CSR commitment, or encouraging employees to get involved by organising their own fundraising events.

“We may also be able to offer prizes or merchandise to help support such initiatives, and every company that support Kits By County campaign will be recognised through Club and community social media channels.”

Added Alison: “This is a really important campaign to help children stay fit and active and to help prevent long-term health issues that are currently being faced in Stockport. Almost 50% of children in the town are leaving primary school overweight, and we know from our research that not having the right PE kit can be a significant factor in this respect.

“However, with the support and backing of local companies, we hope we can help address this problem and provide kits to families and schools where the need is the greatest.”
