We are pleased to announce the addition of exciting young defender Ethan Mann, who joins us on a two year deal with a one year option as part of the club’s Emerging Talents programme.
Ethan, 20, joins us from non-league side Mickleover, where he had been since U14s level after joining from Derby County. Making his first-team debut for the Sports in 2021, he quickly became a regular for the Southern League Premier Central side, featuring over 50 times for the club over the last two seasons and captaining them on several occasions.
Ethan spent time with County at the back end of last season, starting and impressing in our B-team fixture against Brentford B at Edgeley Park in April, and has this Summer completed a permanent move to the League Two Champions.
As part of his development plan whilst at Edgeley Park, Ethan is set to spend the 2024/25 campaign out on loan to further his exposure to first-team football.

“Ethan is a player we were very impressed with over the course of the season at Mickleover and from his involvement in the B Team game against Brentford. He demonstrated all the attributes of a modern day centre-back, and we are excited to work with him and develop him further.
“He will continue his development out on loan this season to ensure he continues to play games at a high level, and we are excited to see how he progresses over the next 12 months.”
