Neill Byrne to join Bantams for undisclosed fee

The club can confirm that defender Neill Byrne will join League Two outfit Bradford City for an undisclosed fee once the transfer window has opened, subject to EFL approval.

Neill departs having made 43 appearances for the club since signing from Tranmere Rovers in January 2023, scoring twice.

The 31-year-old, who also played for Dave Challinor during spells at Hartlepool United and AFC Fylde, played 22 times in all competitions last season, contributing to the club’s first EFL title in 57 years.

He becomes the second title-winner to make the move to the University of Bradford Stadium in the last few days, joining Antoni Sarcevic, who is set to join Bradford following the expiration of his contract this summer.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Neill for all of his efforts during his 16 months at Edgeley Park and for his contribution to the club’s success this season. Like every player this season, he will be always be remembered as a champion at Edgeley Park and we wish him well during his time at Bradford.
