Match Officials | Wigan Athletic (H)

Carl Brook has been selected as the match referee for Saturday’s local derby between County and Wigan Athletic at Edgeley Park.

The official has previously taken charge of four games involving County, first doing so in our 2-2 draw away at Bromley in the National League, in October 2019. He refereed us twice last season, overseeing our 5-0 win over Wrexham and a 0-0 draw with Swindon Town.

His only Wigan Athletic fixture last season came in League One, as he officiated their 1-1 draw away at Cheltenham Town in November.

That was one of 35 games Brook took charge of in all competitions last season, during which time he issued 148 yellow cards, three red cards and awarded a total of ten penalties.

He has refereed seven games so far this campaign, covering League One, League Two and the Carabao Cup. In that time, he has so far shown 29 yellows, no reds and awarded one penalty. His most recent game came in League Two on Tuesday night, overseeing Gillingham’s 1-0 defeat to Grimsby Town.

The Assistant Referees at Edgeley Park on Saturday will be Steve Durnall and Paul Stonier, whilst Elliott Swallow will be the Fourth Official.
