Ibby called up for international duty

County defender, Ibou Touray has been called up by Gambia for the upcoming September international break.

The 29-year-old has featured 21 times for his country since making his debut for them in 2015, and in January became the first ever County player to represent his nation at a major international tournament when featuring in the African Cup of Nations.

The Scorpions are due to play two African Cup of Nations qualifiers next month, beginning their group campaign with a trip to Comoros on Wednesday 4th September, 4pm KO BST. They are then due to host Tunisia on Sunday 8th September, in another 4pm KO BST.

Ibby will join up with his national team on Sunday 1st September, meaning he will miss our Bristol Street Motors Trophy tie away at Accrington Stanley whilst away, but will not miss a league game after our fixture at home to Reading was postponed.

Good luck, Ibby – we’ll be watching on!
