Goalkeeper joins on loan

We are pleased to announce the signing of England U20s goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond on a short-term loan deal from Championship side Fulham.

Luca has risen through the academy ranks in recent years at Craven Cottage alongside his brother Taye, who is currently also out on loan in the National League at Boreham Wood.

The 20-year-old shot-stopper signed a new four-year deal last year, having been with the club since the age of eight and has represented them several times at U23s level.

He has also spent time training with their first-team squad, and has represented his country numerous times at youth level, featuring at the European Under-17 Championships, as well as during the U19 Qualification stages.

This will be the first senior loan move of his career, as he moves to Edgeley Park on a one-month deal following the red card for Ethan Ross on Saturday, which also saw Ethan pick up an injury.

He joins up immediately with the first-team squad, and is available for tonight’s National League fixture away at Bromley.
