Fixtures revealed for 2024/25 campaign

Our fixtures for the 2024/25 season in League One have now been confirmed…

For the fourth consecutive season, County will begin at Edgeley Park as we kick off our first League One campaign in 14 years with a home game against Cambridge United on Saturday 10th August. It will be our first game against the Us, who finished last season 18th in League One, since January 2013. All opening day fixtures in League One will kick off at 5.30pm and will be broadcast on Sky Sports, either via the main football channel or Sky Sports+.

Our first away fixture, meanwhile, sees us head to the coast as we take on Blackpool on Saturday 17th August (3pm KO) – our first trip to Bloomfield Road since a 4-0 win there in August 2004. We follow that up with a home game against Bristol Rovers a week later (3pm KO), before completing August with a trip to Mansfield Town on Saturday 31st August (3pm KO).

Our first scheduled midweek fixtures don’t come until October, as we travel to Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday 1st October (7.45pm KO), before our first night under the lights at Edgeley Park against Northampton Town on Tuesday 22nd October (7.45pm KO).

Our final league game at Edgeley Park next season will see us host a Lincoln City who just missed out on the play-off places last season, on Saturday 26th April, before we round off the campaign a week later with a trip to Wycombe Wanderers, on Saturday 3rd May.

Please note that all dates and kick-off times are subject to change at a later date.

What about the festive fixtures?

Our Festive fixtures this season will see us take on all three sides relegated from the Championship last season back-to-back, starting with a visit to Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day in a 3pm KO at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Staying in Yorkshire, we will then travel to Rotherham United on Sunday 29th December (3pm KO), our final game of 2024, before beginning 2025 with a home game against Birmingham City on New Year’s Day (3pm KO).

The Easter double-header will start with a trip to Peterborough United on Good Friday (18th April, 3pm KO), before returning to Edgeley Park for a home clash with Huddersfield Town on Easter Monday (21st April, 3pm KO)

When are our local games?

County’s closest geographical rivals in League One next season will be beaten play-off finalists, Bolton Wanderers, with our home game against the Trotters set to be played on Saturday 9th November, (3pm KO). We then make the short trip over to the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday 15th March, in another 3pm KO.

Next season will also see us take on Wigan Athletic in league competition for the first time since 2003. First off, we will host the Latics at Edgeley Park on Saturday 5th October (3pm KO), before travelling to the DW Stadium on Saturday 15th February (3pm KO).
