We are excited to announce that Edgeley Park will be hosting a Men’s Elite League International fixture between England and Romania in September.
The game will see England’s Elite League Squad go up against Romania in the European Elite League on Tuesday 10th September, 7pm KO.
Formerly the men’s under-20s, the Elite League squad is open for players born between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2005.
The game will be England’s second fixture in the competition, just a few days on from their opening game away at Turkey.
The Young Lions will be under new management for those two fixtures, with previous coach Ben Futcher taking interim charge of the U21s in place of Lee Carsley, who is currently the interim manager of the senior team. News on Futcher’s replacement will be announced in due course.
We are delighted to have agreed with the FA to host this fixture, which is testament to the hard work that has been done in recent years to create an elite venue and playing surface at Edgeley Park.
