Charity Bucket Collection: The British Heart Foundation
Today’s bucket collection is being conducted by volunteers raising money for the British Heart Foundation. The BHF are the nation’s heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. They were founded in 1961 by a group of medical professionals wanting to fund extra research into the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart and circulatory disease and after half a century of extraordinary progress they have helped to transform the landscape of heart disease. Alongside today’s collection, some of the volunteers hold a charity football match each year and over the previous two years, they have raised over £1,400 for the British Heart Foundation. The next fundraising game will be taking place here at Edgeley Park on the 15th June 2019.
