Midfielder Ashton Mee has today joined National League North side South Shields on a youth loan deal for the 2024/25 campaign.
Academy graduate Ashton, 18, made his first-team debut for County back in 2023, coming on as a substitute in our 3-0 win away at Leyton Orient in League Two, and has since gone on to make six appearances for the club in all competitions.
The midfielder signed his first pro-contract with the club last Summer, penning a three-year deal at Edgeley Park, and regularly trained with the first-team at Carrington last season.
The next stage of his development sees him head out for what is his first loan move, joining a South Shields side who finished 8th in the National League North last season, just one point shy of a play-off spot under former Sunderland Academy manager Elliott Dickman.
