County supporting Stockport Foster Carers Association

Stockport County is proud to be supporting Stockport Foster Carers Association at Edgeley Park this Saturday, as we carry out a bucket collection ahead of our League One fixture against Leyton Orient.

Stockport Foster Carers’ Association (SFCA) is a registered charity that organises regular events for children who are living with foster carers in the Stockport area. These range from a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the Summer, to a special Christmas party that has been hosted in the 1883 Suite at Edgeley Park for many years.

There are approximately 500 children in Stockport in care, either in foster care or in residential homes. Every one of them will have suffered some form of emotional or physical trauma, and there can be no more deserving children than these when it comes to creating the lifelong memories that the events organised by the SFCA provide.

The SFCA need to raise funds to put on these events and they are extremely grateful to Stockport County for allowing them to have a collection at during Saturday’s game. You will see the SFCA’s volunteer foster carers in yellow bibs at strategic positions around the ground and you can either drop some cash into the buckets or alternatively scan the QR code and donate through the link provided.

Please give generously to help the SFCA continue to organise fun events for some very special children in Stockport, and thank you for anything that you’re able to give.
