Stockport County is excited to announce the signing of Drogheda United goalkeeper Andrew Wogan, who is set to join us as part of our Emerging Talent Programme.
The 18-year-old has signed a four year deal at Edgeley Park with the option of an additional year, and will return to Drogheda on loan until November for the remainder of the League Of Ireland season.
Andrew joins having already gained significant experience during his time in the Republic of Ireland, establishing himself as Drogheda’s number one goalkeeper at the age of just 17 and already making 40 appearances for the club in all competitions. He has also featured seven times for Republic of Ireland U19s, and in March was called up to their U21s squad for the first time.
Despite only signing his first pro-contract a year ago, the shot-stopper has excelled since breaking into the first-team, regularly featuring in the League Of Ireland Team of the Week and winning the Club’s Young Player of the Year award for 2023.
Having now signed a long-term contract at Edgeley Park, we look forward to watching Andrew continue his development at Drogheda for the remainder of their season before welcoming him back to Carrington in November.
